Focus on Social Work, Public Health, Government, & Policy
I started my work as an academic researcher in 2016, with a focus on understanding the patterns, underlying mechanisms, and structures behind policies that affect unincorporated communities.
Within the classroom, my courses and workshops help participants to make connections between structural factors and personal daily struggles facing their communities. I've also been dedicated to creating an inclusive academic environment that fosters students' sense of belonging within the academy.
Furthermore, with over a decade of non-profit work in healthcare and community service experience, I bring to the academy a commitment to incorporating and learning from the wisdom & story people possess and the communities we seek to serve.
